7th Workshop on Discrete Event Systems (WODES’24)

April 30, 2024 @ 8:00 am - May 1, 2025 @ 5:00 pm

The 17th Workshop on Discrete Event Systems (WODES’24) is an interdisciplinary event bringing together researchers from control theory, computer science, and operations research to discuss advancements in Discrete Event Systems (DES) theory and applications. This workshop provides a platform for exchanging information, sharing new ideas, and exploring emerging trends in DES. The event aims to foster collaboration among researchers to foster the advancement DES theory and applications and explore emerging trends in the field.

Discrete Event Systems (DES) play a crucial role in traffic management and Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) due to their ability to model and analyze complex interactions and behaviours of various traffic elements. By using DES, we can represent discrete traffic events such as vehicle arrivals, lane changes, and traffic signal changes.

DES provides valuable insights into traffic patterns, congestion, and potential safety hazards, and provides a powerful toolset for analyzing, modelling, and optimizing traffic management systems. It plays a critical role in the development and implementation of CCAM technologies.
