On 22 to 24 May, the city of Lisbon hosted the 15th edition of the ITS European Congress. This year under the theme ‘ITS: The game changer’. Three-day lively discussions between high-level representatives from the public sector and the industry exchanged success stories, use cases, challenges and solutions for the seamless deployment of smart mobility.
Maria Pia Fanti (POLIBA), project coordinator and an exceptional IN2CCAM ambassador, attended this leading event to spread the word about the project’s mission and vision and engage with other projects to enhance seamless CCAM integration in Europe. During the opening day, Ms Fanti participated in ‘TP 6 – CCAM pilots and trials 2’, together with other projects like SHOW and 5G-META, introducing how the IN2CCAM work on the physical, digital and operational infrastructure helps to boost societal and economic impact. The project’s holistic approach will propose new business models, and regulatory recommendations at the EU level, and study risk-based approaches to ensure safety while enhancing collaboration with the public authorities of the countries involved in the project.
During ‘SIS 12: Challenges and innovative solutions for passengers and goods’, Maria Pia delved into how IN2CCAM will enable automated vehicle integration into the mobility and transport system by deploying innovative technologies and services.
To conclude, the project received significant recognition from the European Commission stand. IN2CCAM, alongside SINFONICA and PoDIUM (all part of the latest CCAM Partnership call), was showcased as exemplars of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility in Europe.
