IN2CCAM gears up for the ITS World congress

The IN2CCAM project is excited to showcase its advancements at the prestigious ITS World Congress, a key event for the intelligent transport systems (ITS) sector, organised by our partner ERTICO. This year’s congress, marking its 30th anniversary, will be hosted in Dubai, UAE from 16 to 20 September, and is set to attract a diverse audience from the mobility, technology, and policy arenas.

As a major platform for exploring smart mobility, the ITS World Congress brings together leading experts, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and academics. It facilitates critical discussions and showcases innovations that drive the field of ITS forward. The event underscores the global nature of mobility challenges, offering a venue for addressing local and international issues and fostering a worldwide dialogue on smart mobility solutions.

Opportunities and Methodologies for Integrating CCAM in Traffic Management

This year, IN2CCAM will participate in Special Interest Session 91, focused on “Opportunities and Methodologies for Integrating CCAM in Traffic Management.” Scheduled for Friday, 20 September, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM (UAE Timezone), the session will feature presentations by project partners POLIBA, ERTICO, and NeoGLS. They will provide insights into the project’s mission and recent progress, highlighting how Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) services are being integrated into traffic management systems.

The session will explore the deployment of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) services on road networks and in vehicles, showcasing their benefits for travellers. As CCAM services evolve, they will coexist with traditional vehicles, creating a mixed-traffic environment that requires effective management and interaction strategies. The session will address the need for machine-interpretable standards to ensure consistent vehicle operation and discuss opportunities for enhancing traffic safety and efficiency. Topics include CCAM integration architecture, the role of data in real-time transport management, and case studies from Vigo and GoOpti.

IN2CCAM’s past achievements and future opportunities at the ITS World Congress

The IN2CCAM project previously participated in the European World Congress in Lisbon. During this event, project coordinator POLIBA introduced the project’s efforts to integrate digital, physical, and operational infrastructures. The project was prominently featured at the European Commission’s stand, showcasing its innovative approach to interconnectivity and smart mobility.

The upcoming ITS World Congress in Dubai offers a prime opportunity for IN2CCAM to advance its mission, present recent developments, and engage in the global dialogue on intelligent transport systems. This event promises to further amplify the project’s contributions and insights in the field.
